We are wrapping up Memorial Day Weekend. Here's some thoughts and highlights from the last four days...
- We had a busy weekend. Friday we hung out with some friends. Good times. It's great to have friends with similar interest and who have kids the same age. You can actually have a conversation because the kids are playing.
- Saturday we went up north to spend some time with family and by the pool. Emma was wiped. She is part fish. I spent 4 hours in pain. I had sunscreen in my eye and it was so bad I couldn't open my eye and it just teared up the whole afternoon. I was sensitive to the light and someone gave me eye drops and it was like acid in my eye. I cried. Well, out of one eye. Good day - for everyone else.
- Sunday we did family pictures. Chase did some family shots, some of just the kids and we even got a few of just Steph and I. I don't think we've had pictures of just us in like 10 years. We should have the pics in a few weeks.
- We hit up the GH Memorial Parade today with Josh and Sara. Emma and Lainey were funny. Eli wasn't sure about the parade but Jacob just wanted to march in the band. Emma loves parades but I felt ripped off - no candy was thrown.
- Thanks to all those who have served our country and given much for our freedom. Blessing on you & your families! I love America.
- I have a bunch of patriotic songs from doing the 4th of July Journey picnic in the past from a few other things so we were rocking some Neil Diamond today.
- I can't believe Washington Ave is still all messed up as we head into summer. That's not right.
- Steph is dreading the next two weeks of school. I think they should make school go from the day after Labor Day to the Friday before Memorial Day and have two weeks at Christmas. They could do that by adding like 12 minutes to each day of school and it would have less costs with a shorter school year...Who's with me?!?!? Someone get Granholm on the phone!
- It was great weather (except I wish we had rain in Norton Shores today. My lawn is so dry). I have pics from past Memorial Day Parades and Emma has on her winter coat.
- Weekend Menu included Hot Dogs, Brats, Cole Slaw, Homemade Mac & Cheese with Ham & Spinach, Steaks, Strawberry Shortcake, Snow Cones, Potato Salad, Baked Beans, Ice Cream, Burgers...
- Hope you had a great weekend with your family!
