Linsanity is starting to quiet down but it could heat up again if the Knick deal Carmelo before the trade deadline this week. The Knicks can't seem to find the rhythm. In this chaos and with all the big NYC press, I like how Lin stays focused.
J Lin said he doesn't want the hype; he wants focus. He said he likes to slow it down a little to stay focused. We see this in his life too. Lin has passed on a number of opportunities to be in the media. He doesn't buy in the positive or negative hype. He wants to stay focused. So how about us? Will we buy into the hype? It might be something someone said or did. It could be money, like your tax return, that can knock you out of focus. Don't blow it. Don't blow up. Keep your eyes on the prize. Don't let situations, worries, comments or other people's hype change your direction. Keep taking next steps. Eyes forward, focused.
It talks about this in Philippians 3. Paul talks about buying into the hype, not getting a big head, and keeping focused. Then he says: ...one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me...
