BURNED BY THE CHURCH

This Sunday we are starting a new series for the month of May and it's gonna be hot (get it, like the whole burned, fire thing...funny huh?). Many people have had bad experiences with people who claim to be Christians and at churches. The big problem is that many times this give a false impression of who God really is and what the church is design to do. Throughout this series, we are trying to see God for who He really is and breakdown filters of our past.

NEW SERIES: BE RICH

NEW MARCH SERIES AT THE JOURNEY
Everyone wants to GET rich. Inheritance, invent something, win the lottery, hit the slot machine, make the next deal, get the promotion...but the problem is that getting rich doesn't guarantee anything. As a matter of fact, there are lots of rich people who are really bad at being rich and end up wrecking their lives and the lives of others. So this month, we're going to talk about BEING rich. It might surprise you to know that one of the authors in the Bible told people to BE RICH and then told them how to do it. So, do you want to BE RICH?

Join us online or in person for this series on March 4, 11, 18 at 9:30 am, 11:00 am or 5:00 pm.

NEW SERIES & NEW SONG

We are beginning a new series this weekend (Sundays 5:00 pm moves to Saturday for the Superbowl this week only). Since it's February, it's gonna be all about LOVE. We aren't gonna be talking about dating, marriage, sex or what to buy for Valentines Day. It's God's love working in and through us. What would a life of love really look like and how would our life, relationships and faith be changed? 

We have a ton of full elements planned for this series and don't worry guys it would be all girlie.

NEW SERIES: IT'S YOUR CHOICE

This Sunday, we are kicking off a new series about choices. We're going to look at how to make wise decisions to kick off 2012. This is a great series to invite someone to check out. If you invited someone to Christmas Eve...follow up with them and see if they want to come out to this series.

CHRISTMAS EVE & (EVE EVE) at THE JOURNEY

We have a some special gatherings planned to celebrate Christmas this year at The Journey. We want this to be a meaningful experience for your whole family (this is a family gathering, no childcare). This year, we're doing 2 time options on Christmas Eve and one on Christmas Eve Eve (no services on Christmas Day & one gathering at 11:00 am on New Years Day). 

For part of the service this year, we are doing a re-telling of 'Twas the Night(mare) Before Christmas. Can we go from the holiday stress and uncertainity of the new year ahead to find peace and joy? We will have creative elements, cookies, coffee, chai, and stuff for kids too. 

Christmas is a great time to invite people to check out church and create conversations about Christ. So get your free tickets at church or online. Get some extra for your friends and family too.

NEW SERIES FOR CHRISTMAS

Even though there is no snow, we are starting our Christmas series this Sunday at The Journey.

The Christmas season is supposed to be about joy, light, and celebration. In reality, it can be filled with pain, problems, worry, & conflict leaving us feeling overwhelmed with life. So this December, we'll be looking at the birth & the life of a baby born on the first Christmas. We call Him Jesus, but He is also known as MIghty God, Everlasting Father, and Wonderful Counselor. Maybe with names like that, He could bring peace, joy & light in the middle of all the pain, conflict, worry & problems you might be facing in life or in this holiday season.

HOPE FOR KIDS IN KENYA

As part of our HOPE Christmas Project this year, we want to share God's love half way around the world in Kenya, Africa. We have a specific partnership with the House of Hope home which cares for and raises up abandoned kids in Kenya. In the past, we have provided things like cows, chickens, buildings, schools, rain tanks, beds and more. This year, we have the opportunity to provide the plumbing for their new well. This will provide the orphanage with running water for the first time. We believe God is the blessor and he blesses us to be a blessing. Please consider giving a meaningful gift this Christmas.

This Sunday is week 3 of our BIG Questions series at The Journey. We have some classic rock kicking off the service this week that you'll want see...and Paul is talking about Hell (and Heaven).
