SUNDAY RECAP FOR JANUARY 8

IT'S YOUR CHOICE
making the wise choice

I was at home in the morning. Steph was singing. Emma was sick. I didn't have responsibilities in the service so I stayed home and watch the services online and did some evaluation of the system. We had about 40 people check out the live feed and about 25 watch the whole thing between the 3 service times. It was fun to hear from some Journeyers who are living out of town who got to check in. I was able to run sound at the 5:00 pm. We kicked off the service with some Michael Jackson, had some fun videos and Paul encouraged and challenged us for the year ahead to make the wise choice. We looked at the life of Daniel and how he found wisdom in God...
HIGHLIGHT:
~Don't let your past decisions derail your future
~ You are not the sum of your bad choices
~ Trying harder, more knowledge, making resolutions & following your heart won't lead us anywhere in 2010. Making the wise choice is different than that.
~ Wisdom comes from God. 
Daniel 2:20 - “Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever;  wisdom and power are his. 
Proverbs 2:6 - For the LORD gives wisdom;  from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
Proverbs 9:10 - The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. 
~ If we care more about what other people think of us, we will make poor decisions. If we follow God's ways, caring about what He thinks of us, we can make wise decisions.

Proverbs Challenge: over the rest of this month (starting yesterday), read a chapter of Proverbs each day starting with chapter 8. It's a way to get to know God & His wisdom. Highlight certain practice wisdom in each chapter.

Is there a way to share the video that was played on Sunday? It was the one that said
"You are not the sum" (of your sins maybe) and "You are His Beloved"
It was very powerful!
