It was a holiday weekend which meant some chillaxin and a little work.
FRIDAY
This was my first day back from vacation. It's a good day to come back since it the day before the holiday weekend.
SATURDAY
Some grillin' and chillin' and taking care of some things from when we were gone.
SUNDAY
Every Sunday of the Independence Day Weekend, we have baptisms at the beach. It's a great gathering and God blessed us again with great weather. I got to sleep in some, then went down to Pere Marquette early to save our spot & set up the amp, mic, battery pack and pick up any trash. I kicked off the service with Holy is the Lord & How He Loves. It's really cool to worship God on a beautiful day in His creation. Paul talked about how baptism is an outward expression of an inner change and shared about an example of baptism from the book of Acts. It's isn't saying you have it all together, it's about trusting in a God who loves us in spite of our mistakes. We baptized 12 journeyers. We will share their stories all this month. This day was great & as always - a highlight for The Journey.
MONDAY
We have a peaceful 4th of July and then at night we went to GR for the fireworks. My mother-in-law works downtown and we were able to watch the fireworks from their 8th floor deck. It was awesome. I wasn't that excited about fireworks after just being at Disney, but this vantage point was incredible. It made the 4th really fun.
Hope you had a great holiday weekend!
